DIY Vegan Friendly Protein Popsicles!

  • 2 min read

Tired of seeing frozen treats on hot summer days that look like they'd instantly undo your morning trip to the gym? Looking for something sweet,  nutritious and refreshing to cool things off after hanging by the pool all day? We've got just the thing. And best of all, these DIY popsicles are simple to make at home and a little imagination can give you endless flavor options.

If frozen treats aren't your thing, no worries! Check out this post we recently shared about other healthy vegan snacks.

How to make homemade popsicles
Before we dive into some fun recipe ideas, let's round up the basic materials you'll need to make these treats.

  • Plastic popsicle tray (tons of affordable options on Amazon)
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Popsicle sticks
  • Almond milk
  • Blender or vitamix
  • Fresh fruit/vegetables (more on that in a bit)
  • Pure Vegan Plant Protein Powder
  • Fresh mint, agave or other additives per your cravings

In short, there are two similar, yet slightly different ways to make your popsicles. It all comes down to whether you want a consistent, creamy texture or some big chunks of fresh fruit along the way. For the smooth and creamy route, simply blend almond milk, two scoops of Pure Vegan Protein Powder and your preferred fruit until the entire bath is well mixed. Pour the liquid into the trays, add your sticks and freeze at least 4 hours. For the fruit chunks, blend your protein powder and almond milk and pour into the popsicle trays. Allow the mixture to cool in the freezer for a little over an hour. After dicing your fresh fruit into small pieces (and before the base  is entirely frozen solid, drop the fruit into the tray and gently stir with the popsicle stick before allowing the whole tray to continue freezing for an additional 3-4 hours.

Simple as that!
