5 Health and Wellness Tips From New York Times Best Selling Author JJ Smith

I’m JJ Smith, a #1 New York Times bestselling author, nutritionist, certified weight loss expert, passionate relationship/life coach, and inspirational speaker. I’ve dedicated my life to the field of healthy eating and living. My passion is educating others on natural ways to stay slim, restore health, and look and feel younger. Balance Your Hormones

Sometimes those extra pounds have little to do with how many crunches you’re doing or how much less food you’re eating and everything to do with a shift in hormones, especially if you’re over the age of thirty-five. Excess fat is often due to a hormonal imbalance called estrogen dominance, which can occur primarily in women, but sometimes in men, also. If you don’t address estrogen dominance, your stubborn fat can be impossible to lose, no matter how much you cut down on calories or work out.

Eat Clean

Back when I started taking my health seriously, I found myself confused on what healthy eating really meant and how I could quickly reach my health/weight loss goals. As long as you avoid empty calories, eat enough protein, and eat well balanced meals you’re following my clean eating guidelines.

 

Strive for Progress Not Perfection

People say “it’s the little things that count,” and they’re right. When we think of our weight loss goals, we tend to think of a grand, long-term objective we hope to achieve. Weight loss is all about a journey. You have a destination. But how do you know how far you’ve gone if you don’t stop to celebrate all of the smaller victories along the way? I hear so many people say “I need to lose fifty pounds.” Well, you might, but what happens when you lose ten? Are you celebrating? There’s always some progress to recognize in a day, even on the most challenging or discouraging days.
