Does Your Scale Control Your Life?

  • 2 min read

Still stepping on the scale every time you go to the gym? Are you keeping a tape measure in your pocket and checking every five minutes? Wondering why you haven’t shrunken to your goal pant size yet? Stop it!!! It’s good to keep track of your success. It will keep you motivated. Though, too much concern over the pounds and inches disappearing may end up backfiring. It’s most important to gauge how you feel. Chances are, if you are making progress, you will know it!

All too many times, people want to get in shape overnight. So, they just stop eating entirely. There’s nothing more dangerous than a so called ‘starvation diet’. In it’s most worst form, this approach can lead to devastating eating disorders. It just doesn’t work.
It won’t do you any good to obsess over fat. Believe it or not, fat actually serves a purpose. It’s essentially a storage system for energy. Remember, muscles need fuel. When you become undernourished, your muscles can access that stored energy from fat cells. The key, is to take in fewer calories than you burn. See, your body can only do one of two things with the food you consume: burn fat, or store it. To simplify it, eat right and exercise.

Eat Foods to Fuel Workouts

In addition to a low fat diet, it’s also important to treat yourself to tasty treats. Now, that’s not to mean eat a big bowl of ice cream. However, you can still indulge in a bit of sweet stuff every so often. In fact, some snacks will even energize your workout! Following, is a recipe for home made power bars using Pure Advantage Protein Powder:

All Natural Peanut Butter

All Natural Organic Honey

Pure Advantage Whey Protein

Dark Chocolate Chips

Unsweetened Coconut

Stir ingredients together. Spread on a large baking sheet. Refrigerate overnight. Slice and serve.
