Digestive Enzyme Complex
Pure Vegan Digestive Enzyme Complex is a proprietary blend of acid stable plant based digestive enzymes: Amylase, Protease I, Protease II, Lactase, Lipase, Cellulase, Maltase & Hemicellulase. Ginger, Peppermint and cinnamon have been added and may help calm indigestion and bloating.*
The definition of an enzyme is a protein functioning as a biochemical catalyst in a living organism. Sounds simple if you’re a biochemist, but doesn’t begin to describe the incredible complexity of biochemical reactions that take place in the human body.
Life could not exist without enzymes. Our breathing, sleeping, eating, working and even thinking are enzyme-dependent. Enzymes are a delicate life-like substance found in all living cells. Enzymes are energized protein molecules necessary for life. They catalyze and regulate nearly all biochemical reactions that occur within the human body; enzymes unlock energy in the body and turn food into energy.
Pure Vegan Digestive Enzyme Complex is a proprietary blend made up of the following enzymes derived from non-animal sources: Amylase, Protease I, Protease II, Lactase, Lipase, Cellulase, Maltase & Hemicellulase.
Unlike most digestive enzyme supplements, this proprietary blend works continuously throughout the pH variations in the digestive tract.
We formulate our products to work and your 100% satisfaction is guaranteed! All Pure Vegan products are manufactured in an FDA regulated facility. Vegan Digestive Enzyme Complex helps increase the digestion of foods and helps enhance the bioavailability of dietary supplements.
Protease I & II are the most necessary enzymes. Protease helps digest proteins in your food. This is important since food is one of the most difficult substances to metabolize. Each type of protease has a specific kind of peptide bond it breaks. These proteases are active in a wide pH range of 3 to 9; with the strongest activity between 5 and 8 at a body temperature of 37° C. Proteases hydrolyze proteins to a variety of amino acids. Lipase is responsible for metabolizing triglycerides and aids in the digestion of fats. Amylase and Cellulase are carbohydrases; which combine to digest complex sugars, starches and non-starch polysaccharides. Cellulase hydrolyzes cellulose. According to Enzymatic Hydrolysis of Cellulosic Waste to Glucose (1975), cellulose is the most abundant organic source of food, fuel and chemicals. It is dependent upon its hydrolysis to glucose. Cellulase also eats away unwanted yeast, which when multiplying can lead to Candida.
Pure Vegan Digestive Enzyme Complex also contains Ginger, Cinnamon, & Peppermint. Ginger is perhaps the best herb for digestion. It helps break down proteins to rid the stomach and intestines of gas. It also aids in the digestion of fatty foods. Cinnamon aids in digestion and is energizing. Peppermint promotes healthy digestion by soothing and comforting the stomach. Peppermint also helps improve the flow of bile from the liver to the gallbladder.
